Vicki is an award-winning magazine writer, essayist, and author of the memoir The Second Nine Months: One Woman Tells the Real Truth About Becoming a Mom. Finally.
Her work has appeared in many publications including Parents, Women’s Health, The Daily Beast, Philadelphia, Salon, More, Playboy, and Ladies Home Journal. She’s a contributing editor and columnist at Reader’s Digest, a Writer at Large at Philadelphia Magazine (where she was previously articles editor), has consulted with magazines on editorial content and strategies, and has appeared on Oprah, The Today Show, and at the podium at numerous conferences.
Back in the day, she was an editor at The Penn Stater Magazine and at Pitt Magazine, and did PR for Dartmouth College. She has a BA and MFA in nonfiction writing, both from Penn State. In real life, she’s a big fan of yoga, yard sales, The Walking Dead, her Honda minivan, her three young daughters, and her husband who is known around their Atlanta neighborhood as “Poor Thad.”
